If you go in and go into it with the expectancy you’re going you’re going to receive. Because God, the Holy Spirit, is the one that moved on the hearts and minds of forty men to pen the Bible. So the Bible is God breathed. So when we go into the Bible, we’re not just reading a book of religion or a book of rules or philosophy, like my wife and I are going through acts.

When you see the still. And all of these, all these philosophers and all of them in Greece and Turkey, and they’re and polls coming inner Peter, and they’re just sharing the gospel. Some of them are like I believe, I believe God moved on him. And many are like bah right, he raised from the dead.

That’s why the Bible says that the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who are being saved is a power of salvation. It’s sharper than any double edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. This is why.

When you grow in the Lord, you’re in his word, and it’s it’s teaching us according to two Timothy, that all two Timothy three sixteen Paul to the young pastor, actually we go from fifteen to seventeen from infancy Timothy. But if in infancy you have may known the holy scriptures, which you’re able to make you wise to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. All scripture is God breathed and is useful for instruction, for conviction, for correction, for training and righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work. This is one of those This, these couple of verses here are really they do a good job unpacking the line of demarcation for those who are Christ followers, and maybe those like Matthew seven twenty one who are they’re not, but they they pull enough verses out that they can twist or whatever.

But if you as a Christian, Jesus told us the disciples, why do you say you love me but you don’t do what I say? You don’t keep my commandments. God’s word is truth, it’s active, and it’s non negotiable. We don’t get to add or take away or change what God wants us to know. Because God’s word is breathed, it’s it is a holy spirit breathe.

And then we use the. Truth as creatures, right, we were created. But for those that have been born again, we then can accept that this the instruction, the conviction, the correction, and the training and righteousness those like the Stoics, and then in the Book of Acts, and even today most of the population I would say in the United States doesn’t believe this. I believe in God will submit to his scriptures.

Well, the Bible’s full of errors. Show me one I can’t think about. We get we get to read God’s words. Yes, they were penned by men from their vantage point, from how they would how they were relaying what was putting on their heart through the direction the Holy Spirit.

But we we’re not orphans, and we have everything necessary for living in the scriptures. Blessed beyond measure is all I can say. Reference the word of God. And because of that, because it’s God breathed, and because it was written.

By God, then what do we get out of it? When you go through the Bible, one. Of the main attributes that should be known about you is an increasing humility. It’s an oxymoron to say, arrogant Christian, my pastor, he’s on fire. Up there, boy.

People love him. He’s everybody knows Pastor x y Z he’s so great. Come see Pastor great great. Run.

All I can say is run from that person and that church. Of course, after exhorting them to say, brother Philippians two, Paul to the Church of Philippi into us said, starting in verse one, to the church. Therefore, if you have any encouragement from being united in Christ, if any comfort from His love, if any common sharing in the Holy Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, make my joy complete by being like minded, having the same love, being one and spirited of one mind. What’s the mindset we should have? Well, our actions should show that we then will do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, rather than humility.

Value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interest, but each of you to the interests of the others. Remember when Jesus, before he went to the cross, in the upper room, he showed the disciples and the apostles specifically what it means to be a servant leader. So he got up, took the bowl water start washing the feet of the apostles. Why, just like he.

He told him in the Last Supper to do this, and remember to me, he’s saying, do imitate me my church, especially my leaders. Be a servant. Won’t do nothing out of selfish ambition or banconceit. Rather than humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests, but each of you to the interests of others in verse five, Plyppians two.

Then and your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ. Jesus, who, being in very nature God, who being God the Son, did not get insider equality was something to hold on to or to be use. His own advantage. Rather, Jesus made himself nothing by taking on the very nature of his servant, being made in human likeness and being found in appearance as a man.

He humbled himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross. One hundred percent man, hundred percent God. He his body is this human side of his nature, felt the temptation, but he did not sin, because God does not sin. We should be humble people, especially for those in the church.

And I’ll finish with this and we’ll get into the chapter Paul to the Corinthians, which I just read an acts. He was in corinth a year and a half. He started to chure. She talked to people.

Paul the apostle talked. To Christians for a year and a half, and well when you when you get into Crinthians, you’ll see. Shortly after he moved on and then died, the church had insane sin and apostcy popping up. But here’s what Paul told the church in one Corinthians fifteen three through six.

For I delivered to you as the first importance what I also received. Remember Paul knocked off the horse by Jesus on the way to Damascus, then ministered eventually in Arabia by Christ himself. Here’s what he goes. Here’s the first importance.

This is this was the thing I really stressed. Jesus Christ died for our sins. According to the scriptures, he was buried, he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures. Then he appeared to Sephus, who’s Peter, then to twelve.

Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time. The resurrected Jesus appeared over five hundred believers at one time, And Paul said when he wrote this, at the time of his writing, many of whom are still alive. So those some have fallen in a sleep, go ask him. In twenty twenty five.

Let’s stand on truth that share the hope we have in Jesus Christ, the love that God has for those who believe. And let’s stand firm in conviction, but in humility, sharing the Gospel to those who ask. Be prepared to give an answer for the hope that lies within you. But as we see an acts and in the Bible, we do not.

Just like when the Disciples were sent out, if the city rejected them, they knocked the dust after sandals, and they walked out in be in prayer, being the word, Be in fellowship with strong Christian believers. Go to a healthy church, be back in prayer, in the word, fellowship church. That’s the Christian walk. Not I read my Bible every once in a while.

I don’t really pray too much. I don’t have any Christian friends, and sometimes I go to church. That’s not the Christian walk. To be equipped, putting on your armor of God every day to stand the arrows from the enemy.

We wrestle out against flesh and blood, but against prince pouties. To be in that, to be prepared to deal against the spiritual forces coming against you in a world that were there’s a spiritual warfare that we can’t even see, in a world that rejects the Cross, in a world that has billions of people that deny Jesus is God and that he rose from the dead, which biblically they’re considered heathens or heretics, or apostates, or just the loss those in darkness. Like it says in John, he told those Jewish leaders that were. Trying to go trying to take him down, and they were promoting this legalism, rejecting the Messiah.

You do the work of your father, the devil. You have to be in prayer, in the Word, in fellowship and under health in a healthy church. Need to be prepared to give an answer for the hope that lies within you with gentleness. Need to be long suffering, but need to have conviction, resolute, a light.

Think about it, a light. So if you’re a lighthouse in your area, in your community, you don’t fall over with the storms. You realize the storms will come, which are tribulations, and we are to counted joy when we enter into tribulations because it produces perseverance, It tests or resolve, it tests our theology. And if things happening you don’t understand, where do you go? Do you go to TikTok? Do you go to YouTube? No, you go to the Word of God.

First prayer and in the Word of God. You do not run to the pastor for everything. Because Christianity, as a Christian is you and Jesus the Holy Spirit’s in you. So you’re in the Word.

Then in fellowship with believers, you break open the apostles teachings like an acts, and you discuss those things. And then you go to church, so the gifts can be used in a corporate setting and you can sit under the teaching of an elder or pastor whatever you call them. At your church. After service, they should be available.

Say I have a question about these verses. I can’t I don’t understand them. And as a shepherd’s shepherd of the church, they then have a biblical mandate and responsibility to help you. And then you go back into prayer and in the Word be a Brian.

Be a Brian. In twenty twenty five, do not be just a Corinthian that Paul who told them the first importance is to remember that Jesus died for our sins. According to the scripture, the prophecies, the growing up, the time, the dying on a cross, saying to tell Us I conquering death and sind Courtnel scriptures, Jesus, Jesus was crucified, he died, and then he was buried. Right, here we go, Mark chapter. Nine, verse one, and Jesus said to them, truly, I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Kingdom of God has come with power. Hmmm, that was something to think on. Okay, verse two after six days, so think about it.

It’s funny how the Bible, you know, just because Mark was very just abrupt and to the points. But he opens it up. Now, as you know, the Bible was not written in chapters, so it was just a continuation. But this is how the this is how they broke it up so we could communicate and have a Bible study where you could turn to Mark chapter nine instead of having scrolls.

But Jesus said to them, truly, I will tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see that the Kingdom of God has come in power. Well, six days later, Jesus is going to fulfill this. He took Peter, James and John sons of Thunder. My personal opinion is he would take these guys who would be church leaders because they were doers and the leaders naturally called leaders.

After six days, Peter Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up on a high mountain where they were alone. Now, so picture this all right, walking up the hill. You’re walking up to the top of the mountain, it says, a high mountain, and bam, Jesus transfigured before them, Jesus, being gods veiled with flesh. For a moment, his clothes became dazzling white, whiter than any one in the world could bleach them.

According to the inn ib when they appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus, you had the prophet power and you’ve got the law. And Peter said to Jesus, now, what would you do if Jesus is glowing brighter than the brightest thing you can think of? And then Elijah and Moses are talking with them, all of a sudden, would you say something? Of course not, you’d be like, oh but not Peter, No, no, no, no, no, Peter, And and poor Peter. He had a promise sticking his foot in his mouth, and the Bible doesn’t hide some of his mistakes. So Peter said to Jesus, as he’s glowing with Moses and Elijah talking to him, Rabbi, I think, I think, I think Jesus should have shot past Rabbi to Peter at this point.

But Rabbi, is it good? It is good that we’re here, isn’t this great? Let us put up three shelters, one for you, one for Moses, one for Elijah. For he did not know what to say. They were so frightened. So when and now Peter just spout out something.

Well, then it cleared, A cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the from the cloud, this is my son whom my love. Listened to him, gotta blow your mind. Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone except Jesus. So listen to him.

Poof gone, Jesus not glowing. And the next thing we see verse nine, as they’re coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man, which is the Old Testament reference in Daniel as the Messiah, as God God coming in the flesh, till the Sun of Man had had risen from the dead, so it says to verse ten. They kept this matter to themselves, discussing what rising from the dead meant, and Ugh, they get told several times by Jesus that the Sun a man would have to go to Jerusalem, would be turned over, would be killed, but he would rise up on the third day. But they were trying to figure out on the way down, what’s he mean.

And they asked him, why do teachers of the laws say that Elijah must come first? Now Elijah symbolically, and it being John the Baptist, She’s replied, to be sure, Elijah does come first to restore all things. Why it is written that the son of Man must suffer much and be rejected. I tell you Elijah has come and they’ve done to him everything they wish, just that has written about him. I heard a false teacher say he interviewed with an Islamaic Islam Imam, And they tried to take this verse trying to say it’s Mohammed, that’s not what it means.

Just so you know, they even tried to distort this. Elijah was Elijah and John the Baptist, the fore runner coming the power of Elijah to set the stage for the Messiah Jesus Christ. So verse fourteen. When they came to the other disciples, so they’re joining up with everybody, they saw large crowd around them and the teachers of the law arguing with them.

So Jesus walks up to this debate. As soon as the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him. What are you arguing about? He asked a man in the crowd. Answer, teacher, I brought you my son, who is possessed by a spirit that has robbed him of speech, and whenever it seizes him, it throws him to the ground.

He foams at the mouth, gashes his teeth, and becomes rigid. I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not. You, unbelieving generation Jesus replied, how long shall I stay with you? And how long shall I put up with you? Man? What a punch guy? Whatever? Punching the guy right? How long I gotta put up with you? Guys is killing me? Now, that’s my It’s not what the Bible says. That’s what, That’s what I would be thinking.

But jesaid, how long should I put up with? You bring the boy to me. So they brought him, and when the spirit saw Jesus, here we are with the pre eminence of God in the flesh. When the evil spirit saw Jesus and immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

Jesus house the boy’s father, how long has he been like this from childhood? He answered it often. It has often thrown him in the fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us. If you can, Jesus said, Jesus, So stop there for a second.

If you can, if I can, everything is possible. For the one who believes. Immediately, the boy’s father explained, exclaimed, I do believe. I believe.

Help me. There’s beautiful words. Jesus helped me overcome my unbelief. When Jesus saw that the crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the clean the impure spirit, You deaf and mute spirit.

I command you come out of him and never enter him again. Now this is an interesting command. Jesus normally drives out demons, But for this boy he put a He put a prohibition which the boy the reason why from from the the rest of the scriptures to unpack it just a little bit, but he commanded him to never to never come enter him again. See, the unbeliever can be oppressed and possessed by demons.

Those who have been filled with the Holy Spirit cannot be demon possessed because God has taken residence in the person in as God the Holy Spirit. So to he’s saying, get out to the boys confession and belief in his heart, you cannot come back in. The spirit. Shrieked can bolst him violently and came out.

The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said he’s dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, lifted him up to his feet, and he stood up. And after Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, why couldn’t we drive it out? He replied, this kind can only come out by prayer. Remember this year, prayer in the Word, in fellowship with believers, in a healthy church, sharing teaching, sharing your gifts, not being unequally yoked with unbelievers, not loving the world system, the pride of life, you know, the puffing up.

Verse thirty. They left that place and passed through Galilee. And Jesus did not want anyone to know where they were, because he was teaching his disciples. He said to them, the Son of Man, okay, here’s one of them.

Many times he’s going to predict his death. The Son of Man me the Messiah in front of you, God the Son. But according to the prophecies and fulfillment of the scriptures, the Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him, and after three days he will ride, just like when they at the transfiguration. Peter, James, and John.

We’re trying to figure out what he meant by dying and rising up after three days Verse thirty two. But they did not understand what he meant and were afraid to ask him about it. Thirty three. They came to Compernaum, and he was in the house.

When he was in the house, he asked him, what are you arguing about? What were you arguing about on. The road. Picture this, Jesus says, ask him, what were you arguing about? Verse thirty four, but they kept quiet because on the way they argued, who among them is the greatest. Sitting down, Jesus called to twelve and said, anyone who wants to be first, he’s rebuking him right now with a biblical with the truth.

Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last. So I was talking about what the pastors and the leaders servant, not a glorified speaker on a stage, servant teacher. Anyone who wants to be first must be last, and the servant of all. And he took a little child, whom he placed among them.

Taking the little child in his arms, he said to them, whoever welcomes one of these old children, my name welcomes me. And whoever welcomes me does not welcome me, but the one who sent me. How could you say that doesn’t welcome He just said, whoever welcomes one of the lilies children, one of these old children, and my name welcomes me, And whoever welcomes me does not welcome me, but the one who sent me. Because Jesus said, if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father.

For I am the father of one God’s God, the Father God, the son God the Holy Spirit, one God, three distinct personalities, personhoods. Whoever welcomes me doesn’t welcome me, but you’re it’s God, the Father that’s being glorified in the work of the Sun. While in the flesh on Earth Verse thirty eight. Teachers said, John, we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we told him to stop.

Yes, yes, you’re hearing that right, John, saying we told that these people casting out demons in your name to stop because he wasn’t one of us. It wasn’t the now of our you know, it was one of us. Do not stop him. Jesus said, for one who does America, I’m my name can be in the next moment.

Saying anything bad about me. So for no one who does America my name can then the next moment turn around and say something bad about me. Forever is not against us, is for us, So don’t worry about it. They’re not going to drive out demons and then blasphem my name.

So they’re if they’re not against us, then they’re for us, So let them do good. And but Jesus could add, but I’m not saying that, But I’m saying in the overall thing, God is sovereign, so he’s in control of this anyway. He’s telling the guys, don’t stop the people that are doing good works in my name verse forty Though the Bible also says again though whoever’s not against us is for us. But the Bible says, if you are not for Christ, you are against him.

You made yourself an enemy of God. So Jesus saying, don’t stop the people doing good works in my name. Truly, I tell you verse forty one. Anyone who gives you a cup of water my name, because you belong to the Messiah, will certainly not lose their reward Verse forty two.

If anyone causes one of these little ones, those who believe in Me to stumble, beware of false teachers. It’d be better for them to if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea. If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. If it is better for you to enter life eternal life maimed, than to with two hands and to go into hell where the fire never goes out, so be better for you to be in this life with only one hand.

You know this is symbolically, then to go into hell with two where the fire never goes out. If your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled, then to have two feet in to be thrown into hell. If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out.

It is better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with one eye. Then have two eyes, and to be thrown into hell, where the worms that eat do not. Die, and the fire is not quenched. This is a if you’ve ever had a question about how eternal do people spend? Are they judged for eternity in hell? Yes, they are, because in Hell the worms that eat do not die, eat them, and the fire is not quenched.

It is eternal separation of God with Lucifer and the demonic hosts, and those who reject Jesus Christ and are doing the will of their father, the Devil, who will be eternally damned and judged. And thus those who are the followers and do the work of Lucifer and the angels will spend eternity with them Verse forty nine. Everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? Have salt among yourselves and be at peace with one another.

Amen. When do we get out of this? Jesus is God. He’s demonstrating it. He’s doing works.

He’s telling his disciples and believers, I’m going to die and I’m going to rise up on the third day. He has his power over the demon world, and he’s doing miracles, and he’s he’s stressing the fact that if you’re in Christ and you’re with Him, then remain salt. Remain present in the church and in the work that God is giving you as the salt of the world. But woe to those who want to deceive believers.

Better to be drowned in the ocean. And because sin is so hateful, if your eyes causing you to sin, pluck it out. If your feet are making you take somewhere to sin, cut off a foot or a hand. If your hands are sinning, you know you are being used for sin.

Because sin rejects you from God. It is a It prevents you from having access to the Father. But in Christ, the atonement of Jesus on the crost, that access remains open into the Holy of Holies, where we can. Say I’m a father.
