Former President Donald Trump, the presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee, said during a campaign trip on Saturday that he has picked his vice presidential nominee just days before the June 27 presidential debate.
According to a post on X from NBC host Kaitlan Collins, Trump was asked in Philly if he has picked his running mate yet.
Trump answered, “In my mind, yeah.”
“Do they know?”
“No, nobody knows,” Trump says.
Asked if he’s decided who his running mate is, Trump says in Philly, “In my mind, yeah.”

NBC News’ Jake Traylor also reported on X, formerly Twitter, that Trump has not yet informed his vice-presidential pick about their selection.

Rumors about who the president has chosen for a running mate have gone around for months.
Sources familiar with the process have told The Hill the front-runners for the position are North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum (R), Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
Like Rubio, Vance was a Trump critic when his best-selling memoir, Hillbilly Elegy, vaulted him to national stardom.
These days, Vance is one of Trump’s strongest defenders and an advocate for his agenda on trade, immigration, foreign policy, and other salient issues.
Others who received vetting materials and are under consideration include Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson.
Trump told Scripps News last month that there’s a “good chance” he’ll announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention, which will be held July 15-18 in Milwaukee.
