The Cathedral of Hope in Dallas is making waves with its open support for LGBT activism. This group, which calls itself a United church, isn’t shy about its beliefs. They even provide resources on their site that treat being homosexual as a sacrament and offer dating tips for gay men. Behind the scenes, some say things are even more “unhinged” than they appear.
Sara Gonzales from BlazeTV, along with others from the Texas Family Project, attended an event at the Cathedral of Hope called “Celebrating the Art of Drag Sunday.” What they witnessed left them deeply concerned. According to Gonzales, “Nothing about this ‘church’ service was godly or Christian. The drag brunch that followed was filled with raunchy acts, sexual references, and scantily clad men dressed as women.”
Gonzales didn’t hold back, suggesting that such behavior is more reminiscent of “the church of Satan” than any true Christian doctrine. The event was marketed as a “fabulous and spirit-filled Drag Sunday,” celebrating the joy and resilience of drag. Families were invited to a drag brunch fundraiser, although the ticket site recommended it for ages 18 and up.
During the service, children were present as the senior pastor, Neil Thomas, attempted to use the words of Jesus to justify having a drag king preacher. Thomas referenced Mark 10:27, claiming that “with God all things are possible,” including having a drag king preacher. The preacher in question was Brooke Dooley, who adopted the persona “Rev. Brock Bottom” for the occasion.
Dooley, an LGBT activist, critiqued evangelical purity culture and argued that gender is a social construct used to maintain power dynamics. At one point, Dooley and Thomas praised members of the United Court of the Lone Star Empire and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The latter group is known for mocking Catholic teachings and ridiculing traditional Christian values.
Cathedral of Hope “church” in Dallas, TX held a drag brunch fundraiser where raunchy drag queens threatened violence against conservatives.
Does this sound very Christian to you? 👇🏽
Much more to come.

Bill Donohue from the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights criticized the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for their provocative acts, such as simulating sodomy while dressed as nuns. The group’s motto, “Go forth and sin some more!” was highlighted during the event. Video footage captured heavyset men in drag and a man in a fetish suit with a dog mask joining the pastor on the altar.
The drag after-party featured a speaker who urged potential Trump supporters to stay silent. This speaker, appearing at the church’s fundraiser, spoke of violence when addressing Trump supporters. When mistakenly thinking someone in the crowd voted for Trump, he threatened, “OK, ’cause I will kill him.”
He also made fun of Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s disability, joking about taking away wheelchair ramps. The Texas Family Project expressed their disbelief at such events happening in a church setting. Kaden Lopez, the executive director, emphasized the need to expose these events despite not wanting to attend them.
The Texas Family Project labeled churches that allow drag queens to preach as satanic. Meanwhile, Libs of TikTok reacted to the videos by calling the participants “seriously unhinged and insane.” They suggested that these individuals should be investigated for their actions.
The event has sparked debate about what constitutes appropriate behavior in religious settings. Critics argue that the Cathedral of Hope’s actions stray far from traditional Christian teachings. Meanwhile, supporters see it as a celebration of diversity and self-expression.
The Cathedral of Hope’s approach has drawn both praise from progressives and condemnation by conservatives who understand the teachings with scripture. This is a clear deviation from basic understanding of Christian values.
As the conversation continues, the Cathedral of Hope remains stubborn in its dystopian mission. The controversy surrounding their events only seems to fuel their determination to push boundaries.
The church’s activities have also caught the attention of conservative media outlets. Spreely News, Fox News and the New York Post have all covered the story, highlighting the deep divide in public opinion. Newsmax has also reported on the event, emphasizing the reaction from conservative groups.
The Cathedral of Hope’s stance reflects radical pagan cultural shifts happening across the country. As the left continues to force society to grapple with far-left radical issues of so-called ‘identity and expression’, religious institutions find themselves at the forefront of these debates. Whether viewed as progressive or problematic, the Cathedral of Hope’s actions are undoubtedly making a negative impact on the faith community.
Dallas is a democrat controlled city so nothing surprises me.
